SAPPHIRE SHOWCASES NEW PRODUCTS AT COMPUTEX 2012

Graphics and Mainboards joined by Multimedia and Mini-PC

SAPPHIRE Technology is highlighting its latest products including Graphics, Motherboards and other new technology products including a new generation of APU-based mini-PCs at COMPUTEX 2012 from 5th to 9th June. Demonstrations will include the latest high performance components and some stunning multi-screen displays.

Graphics for the Enthusiast

Following the success of the SAPPHIRE HD 7000 series incorporating the latest generation of GPUs from AMD built in its new 28nm process and featuring the new GCN optimised graphics processing architecture, SAPPHIRE is introducing several new models.

Featuring the SAPPHIRE exclusive FleX technology, the new HD 7950 FleX Edition can support three DVI monitors in Eyefinity mode and deliver a true SLS (Single Large Surface) work area without the need for active adapters. The SAPPHIRE HD 7950 FleX is now the highest performing card with this feature, allowing gamers to use low-cost DVI monitors for all three screens. The first two monitors are connected to the two DVI ports and the third to an HDMI to DVI cable (supplied) with no extra hardware required. This card also features SAPPHIRE’s new dual-extractor technology – Dual-X – a highly efficient graduated multi-heatpipe cooler with dual fans providing quiet and very cool operation during normal operating conditions, and superb cooling performance even under extreme load. A FleX edition of the successful SAPPHIRE HD 7870 will also be previewed at the show.

Another new model is the SAPPHIRE HD 7770 Vapor-X OC Edition – the first card in this generation to use the SAPPHIRE exclusive implementation of Vapour chamber cooling technology. Previous products with Vapor-X coolers have received world wide acclaim for delivering very efficient cooling that allows the card to run at higher speeds but with very low noise levels

In COMPUTEX, SAPPHIRE will preview a new super-overclocked HD 7970 model with Vapor-X cooling and 6GB of memory, aimed at the real hardcore enthusiast.

When Silence Means Everything!

The SAPPHIRE HD 7750 ULTIMATE is the first card in this generation to use a passive heatpipe and heatsink cooler to deliver totally silent cooling, and increased reliability as it has no mechanical moving parts.  It shares all the features of the HD 7700 series and AMD’s highly acclaimed GCN graphics processing architecture making it ideal for HTPCs and any general purpose PC where operational noise needs to be kept to a minimum.

Tune up with TriXX

For enthusiasts wishing to maximise performance, the latest version of the SAPPHIRE overclocking tool, TriXX, supporting this highly successful generation of technology is available free to download from the SAPPHIRE website. SAPPHIRE TriXX allows tuning of GPU voltage as well as core and memory clocks, whilst continuously displaying temperature. Manual control of fan speed is supported, as well as user created fan profiles and the ability to save up to four different performance settings.

Check out our Mainboards!

Not everyone is aware that SAPPHIRE has an increasing line of mainboards, supporting processors from both AMD and Intel.

For the enthusiast, the SAPPHIRE PURE Black 990FX is a state of the art mainboard making full use of the features of the AMD 990FX and SB950 chipsets. It has six PCI-Express Gen2 slots as well as extensive SATA and I/O support. It is a built to a high standard with its black multilayer PCB, and high quality gold plated connectors for USB 3.0 and LAN. User friendly features include digital debug display and a push button reset for the BIOS, as well as start and system reset buttons, especially useful for enthusiasts interested in performance tuning or overclocking. This is also the first mainboard to feature the SAPPHIRE QBIOS – an easy to use UEFI BIOS with many overclocking features.

Supporting the latest family of APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) from AMD the SAPPHIRE PURE Platinum A75 is a full ATX sized board making full use of the combined features of the A75 chipset and A-series APU. The SAPPHIRE PURE Platinum A75 has support for USB 3.0 as well as USB 2.0 ports in addition to Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth connectivity. It has extensive SATA support, including AHCI and RAID support. Three Video output options are provided for the graphics output of the APU – DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort – of which any pair can be used simultaneously. Alternatively the x16 PCI-Express Gen2 slot can be used to support AMD Dual graphics with a suitable add-in card, or to utilize a higher performance graphics card.

In COMPUTEX, SAPPHIRE will also preview new mainboards based on the exciting new ‘Trinity’ chipset from AMD.

Following the introduction of our flagship SAPPHIRE PURE Black X58 motherboard last year, SAPPHIRE introduced a range of mainboards supporting the latest Intel processors, including the SAPPHIRE PURE Platinum H67, SAPPHIRE PURE Platinum Z68 and most recently the SAPPHIRE PURE Platinum Z77.

This latest board is firmly aimed at the enthusiast, with many high end features such as a new SAPPHIRE UEFI BIOS, Dual BIOS switch, status monitor, voltage test pads and thermal monitoring. Hardware monitoring tools and the SAPPHIRE proprietary Mainboard TriXX software allow users to review and adjust a range of system parameters while optimising performance of the CPU.

All of our enthusiast mainboards incorporate many of the high end features associated with the SAPPHIRE brand, such as the use of high reliability solid capacitors throughout. The multi-phase PWM voltage regulation circuitry for both the CPU and memory modules incorporate the SAPPHIRE Diamond Black chokes with coolers that have featured on SAPPHIRE’s high end graphics cards.

Mini PC gets APU!

Building on the success of our first Mini PC, hailed as one of the smallest PCs in the world, SAPPHIRE introduced a new model earlier this year. The SAPPHIRE EDGE HD3 shares the same slim, stylish outline as the earlier models but delivers increased graphical capability and higher core performance as a result of incorporating the latest E450 APU technology from AMD. At less than half a litre in volume, it is slimmer and smaller than most wireless access points – in fact around the size of a paperback book!  Its stylish design and simple pedestal mount make it equally at home next to a TV or a business monitor whilst occupying the minimum of desk or shelf space.

At COMPUTEX SAPPHIRE will preview some exciting new models in this family.

Seeing Double with SAPPHIRE VID-2X

SAPPHIRE VID-2X is a compact stand-alone unit that allows two Full HD DVI monitors to be connected to a single Thunderbolt, DisplayPort or DualLink-DVI output of any laptop or desktop.  The device is ideal for computing devices that cannot easily be expanded such as laptops and superbooks as well as for users that are restricted from opening their PCs by warranty or corporate rules. Two models are offered – one with DisplayPort (Thunderbolt compatible) input and one with DualLink DVI input

A completely external solution, requiring no software or drivers to be loaded, the SAPPHIRE VID-2X won’t invalidate any warranties or cause infuriating set up issues. Just plug in two HD DVI monitors and a cable for power and enjoy the instant productivity gains that working on a large screen area offers.  For classrooms or boardrooms, the VID-2X can even mirror the same image on the two different monitors.
